- Calcutta bristles are quite stiff yet still gentle. They come from a special type of wild boar raised in India’s high country. The bristles in this brush are 1st cut, and are slightly longer than the standard for better penetration through medium thick hair. Bristle length is 0.75″ to 0.87″ (19-22 mm).
- Bristles are staggered in length (effilation), which allows the brush to grip hair down to the scalp. PLEASE NOTE: This brush is pure boar bristle. They are not as stiff as nylon bristles, and there are not any synthetic bristles added. For maximum penetration through especially thick hair types, it still might be necessary to brush hair in sections.
- The Indian Rosewood handle is hand made and hand finished in its native India. Size is 9″ x 3″.
- Pure boar bristles naturally and gently condition hair, improve hair texture, and reduce the need for styling products. Pure boar bristles are similar in structure to human hair, so like human hair, boar bristles are not anti-static. If static control is needed, smooth hair with palm of hand after each brush stroke, or spritz or apply a small amount of leave-in conditioner into hair before boar bristle brushing.
